My Top 10 TV Shows Of All Time

1. LOST

People are divided on this show, they either love it or hate it. Granted you have to give LOST a lot of attention, and for some the pay off at the end of six seasons wasn't what they expected or what they wanted. LOST was a show that gave you more questions as each answer was answered, Some questions were never answered at all. I for one loved LOST, the end was perfect for me, and yes i was one of those idiots that got up at 5am to watch the final episode when it aired on tv.

2. Battlestar Galactica

I couldn't get into the remake of Battlestar Galactica when i first got the DVD's, i don't know why,  i dont think i was in the right mood at that point. But with one Sunday and nothing to do i sat down to watch the three hour mini series, followed by ten episodes of season one. I was hooked! I couldn't get enough of it. The story, action, superb acting from the cast and the great cinematography made it more of a series of short movies and not a tv show. Once again the ending of BSG divided fans, and again i thought it was a very good ending to what was one of the best Sci-Fi shows ever broadcast.

3. The Simpsons

The Simpsons is quite possibly the greatest cartoon tv show ever created. Homer Simpson is a genius, obviously on screen he is an idiot and a buffoon, but he loves his family and although he doesn't get it right all of the time he does his best to provide for them and to keep a room over their heads. He is the funniest character ever seen on tv.

4. 24

24 was a fantastic show. Lasting eight seasons 24 sees CTU agent Jack Bauer trying to save the USA from a terrorist threat in each season. From saving the life of Presidential Candidate David Palmer in season 1, Saving the US from a nuclear bomb in season 2 and to fighting Mexican drug lords in season 3 Jack Bauer has done it all. There were several duff seasons, namely season 4 and 6 but every other season was nail biting tv.

5. Buffy The Vampire Slayer

I wasn't a fan of Buffy at first but after being forced to watch the DVD's by a friend i slowly fell in love with the teenage vampire slayer from Sunnydale. Buffy was funny, witty, scary and grown up all at the same time. Joss Whedon created a show that teenagers could relate to, the monster of the week sometimes being a metaphor for teenage issues. As the series went on it got darker and braver, some stand out episodes include "Hush" and "The Body." There were also comedy episodes and even the musical episode "Once More With Feeling" which saw the whole cast break out into song at random moments. Buffy ended on a high note after seven seasons, with season eight in comic book form.

6. Firefly

Another series by mastermind Joss Whedon, cruelly cancelled after just 14 episodes. Firefly was a strange beast, a western in space as it were. Set 500 years in the future, mankind has left earth to find new planets to colonise. Captain Malcom 'Mal' Reynolds is a former galactic war veteran who is the captain of the transport ship "Serenity" Joined by his crew mates, Wash (Pilot), Kaylee (Engineer), former combat soldier Jayne Cobb, Inara (companion), former Alliance medical officer Simon Tamm, his teenage sister River, both on the run from the Alliance and Shepherd Book, a religous man. They make their living and way through space doing odd jobs like smuggling, protection and being guns for hire. Although Firefly was cancelled it had a massive fanbase known as "Brown Coats" who petitioned for a new series but failed, ending up with the movie Serenity instead!

7. Angel

Angel was a spin off series of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. It centered on Buffy's ex boyfriend Angel who was a vampire leaving Sunnydale for L.A. and starting a detective agency fighting the forces of evil. Angel ran for five seasons, with several cross over episodes with Buffy. Angel was a much darker series than Buffy was, and was cut like hell when it was shown on British tv. Although it was darker, it still had it's comedy episodes like "Smile Time" where Angel was turned into a Puppet. Angel ended on a cliffhanger episode where the gang where about to fight the partners from evil law firm Wolfram & Hart.

8. South Park

Every episode of South Park is utter genius. Trey Parker & Matt Stone don't care who they offend and how they offend them. Cartman is quite probably the second best cartoon character ever.

9. Family Guy

Seth McFarlane creator of Family Guy is a genius. Not only does he do most of the voices for the characters he has created what is basically a more ruder, cruder cartoon family. Peter Griffin head of the Griffin household is very much like Homer Simpson, a bit of an idiot, joined by his loving wife Lois, kids Chris & Meg, and baby Stewie who also happens to be a deranged psycopath constantly trying to kill his mother. Last but not least we have Brian the dog, who talks and is smarter than the rest of the family put together.

10. Heroes

Heroes was a great show to start off with but then lost track of where it wanted to go. Lasting only four seasons it followed a group of people brought together when they realise they have special powers. I stuck with it until the end and i actually really liked it.
